Resistance and Achievement: the story of African and Caribbean people in Britain Course at the Museum in Docklands in partnership with Middlesex University

In  2007, the bicentenary year of the abolition of the slave trade in the British Empire this course explores the story of the presence of people of African and Caribbean origin in Britain since the Roman occupation. Presented by Hakim Adi and located in a former sugar warehouse in West India Quay the course provides students with a ten week introduction to the main historical themes, personalities, sources and unintended monuments to this largely untold story.

10  weekly sessions of 1 hour and 30 mins.
