SOME INTERESTING CONFERENCES COMING UP

Leon from Operation Black Vote emailed me today to ask me to post up details of a conference about a 'Race and Faith Leadership Summit' at City Hall, London on November 27th. You can find details here.

I will be participating in a very interesting conference this coming Sunday at the Tricycle Theatre in Kilburn as part of the 30th anniversary of JCORE (the Jewish Council for Race Equality). I have the honour of sitting on a panel with Doreen Lawrence, the mother of Stephen Lawrence who was murdered by a racist gang in Eltham in 1993. Clive Anderson will be chairing and the other speakers include Lee Jasper, senior policy advisor on equality to Ken Livingstone, Rokhsana Fiaz and Tanukha Loha. We will be discussing 'Racism in Britain today' and I will be reflecting on my experiences teaching in a multiculutral inner city school.
