POETRY SLAM 2006
The Poetry Society and the Mayor of London are calling on all young performance poets, rappers and emcees across the boroughs of London aged between 12 and 18 years old to take part in the fifth Rise: London United London wide youth slam.
They will be invited to use their words, verse and nerve to flaunt your skills over four exhilarating quarter finals at top London venues then at two semi finals at City Hall, the winners get to perform at Rise:London United and coaching to develop their talents. Come along and experience the unique atmosphere at these lively events.

i took part in a poetry slam in warickshire slam with a rapper called dreadlock alien and my team in the slam won the compotition and i had one more stuff than anyone at the compitition and then dread lock said if we write a poem to him as in rap or peotry and i chosed rap i wrote it over a period of two weeks and i was happy with it i showed all my mates they thought i had a clear chance of wining cause some of my mates raps may not have bin as good in some peoples eyes so i handed it in to the teacher who was in charge and she never sent it and the work got lost because she could not be bothered and this was a chance to make it in my rapping dream so i was very disheartend when she did not send it off and i dident make the midlands slam poetry team because of this i would like to talk to u and send u some of my demos so please email me back yours sincerly liam mcilwraith a.k.a lil cheif

I read this post, and am dissapointed that the teacher never followed up on your talent, if you are still interested email me and we can bable about you gettig into this years team.

i only just received this email you sent me on the 8th october because unfortunatly my house was robbed and i only just received a new p.c of the insurance and i would like to no about any up coming event to do with rap and poetry slam and how i can get involved in it thanks for repling to my email and im sorry at has took such a long time to mail back yours sincerly liam mcilwraith
